MADRID / A GUIDE TO STAYING LONGER

The wedding is one day.
Madrid deserves a little longer.

A table worth booking, art that surprises and streets made for losing track of time. A selection to make the weekend your own.

22 MAY 2027 / THE WEEKENDR & J / CITY NOTES
01 / MAKE A PLAN

If you’re wondering where to start.

Three suggested routes connecting places in this guide. Adjust them to your arrival time and the bookings you make.

Friday 21 · Before “I do”

Salesas, art and a good table.

An afternoon to settle into Madrid without packing the weekend too full.

  1. 01
    WANDER

    Salesas

Start on Fernando VI and explore the surrounding streets. Small shops, façades and a pause whenever you feel like it.

  2. 02
    DISCOVER

    SOLO Independencia

If a visit is available, book this stop. Confirm the venue and time before arranging the rest.

  3. 03
    DINE

    Los 33 / Casa Salesas

Choose and book your table ahead. If unavailable, adapt rather than trying to fit everything in.

02 / EAT

Tables with personality.

From a special dinner to a leisurely aperitif. Four different addresses for different moods.

03 / ART & WALKS

Art, streets and a moment to pause.

Start with SOLO. Then discover parks, gardens and neighbourhoods best explored on foot.

04 / TERRACES

One more toast.

Two ways to end the afternoon. If the weather’s kind, leave time to see Madrid from above.

05 / STAY

A good place to land.

Choose your neighbourhood first, then your hotel. These are suggestions to compare, with no wedding rates or rooms reserved.

Find your bearings before booking.

Explore the central neighbourhoods and three suggested hotels. Switch to the wider view to understand where Guadarrama is.

Las Letras

For a first visit combining history, museums and walkable streets.

Guadarrama / El Escorial

For staying in the mountains. Confirm how you’ll return from the venue before booking.

A note before booking

These hotels are suggestions, not wedding partners. Compare the total price for your dates, cancellation terms and room type. For a wider range of budgets, use the official accommodation directory. Our wedding coach pickup point is still to be confirmed.

06 / GOOD TO KNOW

Before you pack.

Saturday is for the wedding.

The ceremony starts at 13:30 on 22 May at Prados Moros, Guadarrama. Allow plenty of time to get there and save city plans for Friday or Sunday.

Book the essentials.

Start with accommodation and the visits or restaurants you’re most excited about. SOLO’s programme and restaurant booking conditions may change before the wedding.

Madrid and the venue.

The venue is in Guadarrama, outside central Madrid. Wedding coach times and pickup points will be announced on the main wedding page.

Keep plans flexible.

These routes are suggestions, not organised activities. Check opening times, accessibility and admission conditions before setting out.
